Our joining together will lead the Flames over the Canucks

As walkinvisible (who I ran into today in the village of Calgary) pointed out in her latest entry, tomorrow is the latest big blogger meetup day in Calgary. Previous meetups in Toronto have not led to successful results for the Calgary hockey club, but while the last one in Calgary was lightly attended and full of some unfortunate shenanigans, a Flames victory did occur. Time to make it two-for-two, so bloggers: Be there — Kilkenny in Brentwood, 8 p.m.

As important as it is that the Flames win this one for your friendly neighbourhood bloggers, it’s more important they win it to make Canucks fans feel bad during the holiday season. But almost as key as that is getting back into gaining points for doing something other than losing. Those Dallas and New Jersey games, while half-profitable, also seem to be the kinds of things that can send the Flames’ fragile psyches into mass disarray. Losing to the Canucks, who Jarome and co. seem to hate just as much as me? Well, I’m not in favour of another seven-game losing streak, let’s put it that way.

Frankly folks, that’s all I’ve got today. See you tomorrow, and see you in a few days with something more coherent.
