Another loss, and a not-so-in-depth take on depth

Game 17
Oilers 4 Flames 2
Record: 6-8-2-1

Well, that wasn’t fun. Keenan called out Miikka Kiprusoff as “part of the problem” on the penalty kill, and he was right. Time for Kipper to go back to the shaved head that’s worked so well for him in the past.

But forget Kipper — this is a game that, even without Daymond Langkow, the Flames should have been able to score more than two goals. They should have been able to score five goals, and overcome a couple of baddies from Kiprusoff.

I’m starting to buy the depth argument. And I’d be happy to never see Mark Smith’s No. 16 take the ice again.

  1. why did you make your font so much bigger ? i ask, mostly because talking about anything hockey-related is just infuriating… here’s the thing: the oilers are fun to watch because at any given moment, gagner, cogliano, brodziak etc. could feasibly pot one. we need help. and keenan ain’t (apparently) enough….
