Giordano to Russia: Well, that’s unfortunate

Apparently, the Flames blogosphere’s favourite 2006-07 rookie has decided to take $800,000 a season and join the Russian Superleague, where he’ll play with Moscow Dynamo. Sutter was apparently offering nothing but a two-way deal.

This isn’t debilitating to the Flames’ defence corps by any means, especially with the addition of Anders Eriksson and the potential emergence of Tim Ramholt. But it’s never a good thing when a team develops a player only to lose him for nothing.

More on this when I’m not trying to make dinner.
